Outdoor Outlook's
2009 Deer Activity Calendars
In 2007 Outdoor Outlook
launched our deer activity calendars with great success. Since then,
hunters have expressed great satisfaction with the calendars with some
hunters getting their best bucks on our forecasted "best" times to
hunt. In 2009, we are also launching a new calendar that has been
created from Pope & Young deer
records of over 33,000 record-book sized whitetails. These records are
included with certain purchases from the Pope & Young website.
In 2009 we have produced two
types of calendars. The first type is the same that we have published
for the past two years and is based on a five year study of over 19,000 deer
sightings categorized by moon age/position. These calendars can be
found here.
The second calendar has been
created from the Pope & Young record books. There are three
calendars for different regions of the country. The Pope & Young
records clearly show that these three sub-species of deer react differently
to the lunar cycle. Therefore calendars have been created for the
Southeast, Northeast and Midwest and can be found here.
